[Danner]
In 1932, Charles Danner started making inexpensive work boots with five workers in Chippewa Falls, selling them for $4 a pair. Charles Danner expanded his business in Portland, Oregon. At the time, he started making high-quality chalk loggers and selling them for $20 a pair. In 1959, Danner developed the first shoes in the United States to use Vibram soles, and Danner's Mountain Trail was featured in a backpacker magazine as the easiest boot to climb, establishing Danner as a premier brand in the hiking industry. In 1979, Danner became the first shoe company to use "Gore-Tex" in its shoes, solidifying the "Danner" brand's position. The stance of creating "lightweight" and "comfortable" shoes, one by one, with carefully selected materials and meticulous handcrafting over time, remains unchanged today.
